Project Description
This book captures the raw energy and hyper-real artistry of Bella McGoldrick, a globally recognised illustrator known for her incredibly detailed works that find beauty in everyday objects. The content is a mix of personal travel photos and her jaw-dropping illustrations, which often appear more photographic than drawn. The imagery is unfiltered and unrefined by design, giving readers an intimate glimpse into Bella’s world – one that took an unexpected turn when she faced visa issues and was permanently expelled from the US.

The brief for the book’s production was clear: create a hardcover book that felt raw, intriguing, and artful – a departure from traditional, highly polished coffee table books. The result is a bold, tactile piece that’s as much an artwork as the content inside.

The cover was digitally printed with 4 hits of white ink for the text, with additional white ink underpinning the image to create contrast and clarity. An uncoated UV varnish was applied, sitting on top rather than soaking in, adding texture and a multidimensional feel. The edges were cut flush to expose the box board and it was section sewn to allows for lay-flat reading.
